The D’Arcy McNickle Library’s Special Collections are both circulating and non-circulating. Because of their historical and or subject value to researchers and students we have identified them for ease of access.

Tribal Collection CSKT
The CSKT Tribal History Collection is a comprehensive collection of items about the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, Flathead Reservation history and issues, and Salish Kootenai College. The Library’s desire is to collect multiple copies of all items within this scope, regardless of format. One copy of each item in the collection is housed in the archives room for in library use only. Circulating copies are housed in the CSKT public collection.

A printable brochure guide is available here.

Native American Collection
The Library maintains a circulating collection of Native American materials at the advanced study level.

Historical Photograph Collection
The library’s Historic Photograph Collection of over 735 historical and cultural photographs can be accessed through the library’s tribal archives. The collection includes photographs of Salish, Kootenai, Pend d’Oreille tribal members, and the Flathead reservation.
